Telehealth Therapy for Individuals and Couples

What Is Telehealth Therapy?

Telehealth (sometimes called online therapy) utilizes HIPAA-secure video conferencing platforms to allow therapists and their clients to connect without having to meet in person. Telehealth therapy sessions have become instrumental in continuing to provide clients with much-needed counseling and care during the COVID-19 pandemic. This also allows clients to connect with therapists that could best fit their needs in a further location that they may have previously not been able to, all from the comfort of their own homes. Clients who are looking for Couples Therapy can also have sessions from separate locations from their partners, allowing even more flexibility and convenience.

Our therapists are able to see clients residing in the states of Delaware and Pennsylvania.

We embrace working with folks from any racial identity, ethnicity, religious background, sexual orientation, gender identity, and sexual preference.

How Our Telehealth Therapy Works

Prior to the intake session with one of our therapists, clients will receive consent and intake forms that are to be completed electronically, along with a link to join the scheduled video chat session. There are a few requirements and tips to ensure clients receive the most out of sessions.

What you need:

  • Access to high speed internet
  • Make sure the device you are using (Computer, phone or tablet) is fully charged and has an internally integrated speaker, microphone, and camera
  • Consider using headphones or earbuds connected to your device to improve sound quality and maintain privacy.
  • A quiet and private space where you will not be disrupted, such as a bedroom, home office, or even in your parked car.
  • If you live with others, ask them to not disturb you during this time and to refrain from using Wifi so that your connection is not slowed down.

Following the first session, we will ask to see you both individually. These individual sessions will be used to learn about each of you as partners and individuals while also focusing on your family dynamics and upbringing.

In subsequent couples sessions we will look at behavior patterns, communication style, and we will support you as you make effective changes to grow closer to one another while maintaining your personal identity.

Who it’s for:

Sex therapy can be helpful for individuals or couples looking to explore their sexuality, relational patterns, difficulties with intimacy, gender roles and expectations, or simply find better ways to connect emotionally and sexually. Some common topics discussed are:

How it works:

There are many misconceptions about sex therapy, but there is no nudity, physical exams, or touching between therapist and client(s).

We use a holistic approach to help each client reconnect with their body, communicate their needs, and allow themselves to experience pleasure. Discussing sex and sexuality can evoke feelings of shame or embarrassment for some.

In order to create a safe and shame-free space we work to establish stable communication prior to exploring these areas.
