Telehealth Therapy Frequently Asked Questions

Frequently Asked Questions

FAQ

How do I get started with therapy?

Set up a free phone consultation by using our convenient scheduling link. During the free phone consultation, our intake coordinator will ask a few questions to learn more about you and your needs in addition to answering any questions you may have. If you do not see a time that works for you, please email us at [email protected] and we will do our best to accommodate your schedule.

Do you accept insurance for therapy?

Currently, we are only accepting Highmark Blue Shield plans. Otherwise we are out of network and not accepting insurance. You are welcome to contact your insurance company directly to find out if you qualify for out-of-network reimbursement. You may then request an invoice or “superbill” to submit to them. However, we are not able to guarantee that the claim will be approved. Please click here for instructions on how to find out if you are eligible for reimbursement.

Are you hiring therapists?

Yes! If you’re a licensed therapist (or will be licensed soon) reach out to us at [email protected]. More information is available here.

I live outside the US, can I sign up?

No, unfortunately not. Due to licensing and regulation, you must reside in a US state in which your therapist is licensed.

Do you offer evening and weekend sessions?

Yes, we have found that evenings work better for many of our clients, and we are happy to accommodate. Some, but not all, of our therapists offer weekend sessions but will do my best to accommodate around your schedule.

In what states do you practice therapy (i.e. see clients)?

Our therapists are licensed to see clients residing in Delaware and Pennsylvania. Sign up for our mailing list to be informed when we start accepting clients in other states.

How often do we need to meet for therapy?

We typically recommend you meet with your therapist once a week or bi-weekly for the first few sessions and reassess collaboratively. This is dependent on therapeutic need, affordability and schedule availability.

What can I expect during my first session of therapy?

The first few sessions of individual, couples and sex therapy are for us to get to know one another. Our therapists will develop an understanding of who you are, what your concerns are, and what your life has looked like recently while you get familiar with your therapist, and their therapeutic approach. During this session we will take our time learning about all the different aspects of your life and upbringing.

Do you offer in-person sessions for therapy?

No, we are a digital first therapy and wellness destination. We only provide telehealth therapy, also known as online therapy. These are the same type of therapists you would meet with in person, but by providing telehealth services, we can provide our services to clients all over Pennsylvania – no longer requiring you to drive into the city, find parking, and then drive back afterwords. Telehealth therapy provides you with flexibility and access to amazing therapists all over Pennsylvania.

What is therapy like with you?

Our therapists are real people and won’t silently nod and say hmm and that’s interesting the entire session. We are here to support, guide, and sit with you in any emotion that comes up. We use humor and empathy to build connections while being direct in challenging you to grow. We are open to feedback and your honesty about what works and doesn’t work for you personally.
